NOVEMBER 2018 WORK PARTY REPORT

                                  NOVEMBER 2018 WORK PARTY REPORT

The two new submersible pump were successfully used on the FF with power from the Sellet Estate’s wooden cabin adjacent to the canal, thanks to the owners the Waterhouse’s. We have sufficient cable and were able to pump from several places along the length of the work area.

On Saturday 10th November a small but industrious work party of four laid the remaining blocks on length 5, along the off-bank. Having run out of blocks this leaves most of the towpath side to be done with the next set of blocks.

On Sunday 11th the same group did some initial towpath bank profile filling and compacting. A base layer was laid along about 56m moving material along by hand and a hired compactor. Further work will require a mini-digger to move material.

Below, photos of Waterwitch being winched out prior to its winter ‘scrub down’. Also, the jungle at the Stable being cleared to give the gardening group a fighting chance when they meet on 1st December.
